Hello my lovelies and welcome to my Blog.
Lets talk about Mental illness!
out of the 52 weeks in a year, Australia dedicated only ONE to mental illness awareness and who knows for the rest of the world. But the thing is, IT'S NOT ENOUGHT!
I want to break the glass ceiling on Mental Health!
TBH
Everyday I wake up is another day I have won Vs my mental Illness and I am as sure as hell proud of myself for doing it! But honestly some days are better than others. "Pre-illness" I was a morning person and some days I still am, others I’m a big cocoon on blankets hibernating from the sun.
I don't like how I and others compare my life to "Pre Illness" and now, its nonsense. The person I am to day is the same person as I was yesterday, but today I am stronger and wiser. I am taking what seem like baby steps to onlookers, to accepting my illness but its difficult to accept myself when society as a whole wont accept it.
Have you ever noticed, mid conversation you slip in a physical illness and the conversation continues at the same pace. But the second the topic brushes mental illness the conversation becomes stagnant, the is air heavy and the pace slows. Why is that?
I honestly don't know, but I want to change it. Even if for the selfish reason to aid in my recovery. Through the use of my hobbies and passions I aim to causally slip mental health into daily life. We all know the statistics but we are not doing enough to reduce them. So......
- FOLLOW ME as I dive head first in to the world of COSPLAY! come with me and learn everything there is about cosplay and Mental Health. I am a complete beginner at everything there is to know about cosplay, which means trouble is a brew. I solemnly swear to the anime gods that i will blog about every tiny and TMI detail.
- RELAX with me as I talk about my pride and passions in todays and yesterdays (possibly the futures) YOUNG ADULT LITERATURE. I will be blogging about my loves and my hates, how I organize and my hauls. Lets create a community where we share what we read. How do you link Mental Health with Books? one might ask.........
"oh little grasshopper, you have so much to learn" *laughs menacingly to one's self*
Just you wait and see.......
Duuu Duu Duuu.
Thats right. You should be scared.
Anyway! Bringing it back to the rainbow and unicorn side of life, thank you so much for checking me out *winks suggestively* and i hope you stick around for more !!
Lots of love,
Leah
